Daughter of James and Grace Tyre.

Mrs. Von Trapp was graduated from the Philadelphia Conservatory of Music, Dalcroze School of Music and Oberlin College Conservatory of Music. As a cellist, Mrs. Von Trapp performed in Cleveland, New York City, Northampton, Mass., and northern Vermont in chamber ensembles and orchestras. She also directed the choir of Blessed Sacrament Church in Stowe, Vt.

She was first married to Dr. Robert Warren. They had four daughters and two sons. They divorced in 1975. In 1977 she married Dr. Rupert Von Trapp.
