Daniel served as a Pharmacist's Mate, Second Class, and Medic in the 31st Replacement Battalion, 5th Marine Division, U.S. Navy during World War II.
He resided in Gorham, Coos County, New Hampshire prior to the war.
Daniel was "Killed In Action" in the Battle of Iwo Jima during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He was originally interred in Guam #2 Cemetery and was later repatriated here on March 18, 1949.
