Miss Helen Aman, 71, of 2145 W. Eastwood av., who was chief switchboard operator for four Chicago newspapers during a long career, died yesterday in Ravenswood hospital. Miss Aman retired in 1962 from the Sun-Times and Chicago Daily News and was employed part time until her death as a switchboard operator at Charles A. Stevens Co., 25 N. State st. She was employed in 1928 on the old Chicago Journal, then on the Chicago Times, and later on the Sun-Times. Survivors include five brothers, Joseph M., James A., Leonard M., John P., and Robert C.; and three sisters, Mrs. Dora Buckley, Mrs. Dolores Freeman, and Mrs. Julia Theobald. Services are pending.
