Zeffie Birdie Adams was born December 18,1893 in Iowa.She was thw daughter of Rev. Wiliam David Adams (W.D.)and Mary Lavisa Myers (Minnie).She had nine brothers and sisters. Estey Lavern, Bessie Fern,Truie Ervin,AEdger Lee, Mae,Stanley Harold,Clarence M.,Ruby,Okley "Mike".The family lived in Hamilton County,Iowa for many years then moved to Major County Oklahoma.And on January 20, 1908 Zeffie married Franklin Eugene "Gene" Ruhl. The lived in Oklahoma until 1911 and then moved to Webster City,Iowa. The couple had seven children Dee,Melvin,Carl,Franklin,Evertt,Dolores and William. Zeffie was a stay at home mom and wife. She cared for her family along with chickens,pigs, a garden and canned lot of food for her family. Zeffie had mentioned that President Roosevelt had encouraged people to raise and preserve their on food during WWII.
In about 1980 Zeffie had heart surgery and received a pacemaker. Thats when she went to live at the Southfeild Care Center in Webster City.
The couple celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on At 3:30 in the afternoon of January 20,1983 at the Southfeild Care Center in Webster City.more then 50 family members and friends attend the celebration.They had received a congratulatory card from President and Mrs. Ronald Reagan that they were both very proud of.
Her husband Gene had lived in the care center since 1978.
Zeffie's hobbies were crocheting and playing corn hole games,like toss the bean bag ect.

Zeffie passed away on MArch 28,1992. She was 98 years old.
Zeffie was proceeded in death by her Husband Franklin "Gene" Ruhl,her parents W.D.and Mary"Minnie" Adams.She is servived by : one brother Okley "Mike"Adams and his family.Daughter Dolores Bickford and family. Numberous grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren.Neices and Nephews and therir families.And many freinds.Three sons and a grandson.
