Alfred Carroll Burritt was a son of William Alfred Burritt and Mary Kathleen (Cunningham) Burritt and brother of Stephen Edmund Burritt, Ruth O'Connor (Burritt) Rush, Oscar Broderick Burritt, Rolf Cunningham Burritt, Henry Byron Burritt, Daniel Ernest Burritt, and Mary Kathleen (Burritt) Lee.

During World War I, he enlisted as a private in the 84th Battalion in August 1915 and was killed in action while serving in the 36th Reserve Battalion. His service number was 163536.
