DAVENPORT - Funeral services celebrating the life of Robert N. "Bob" Johnson, a resident of Davenport and a former longtime resident of Ottumwa, Iowa, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the All Faith Chapel at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation is 9:30 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Bob died on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport, following an extended illness. Robert Neil Johnson was born Jan. 19, 1951, in Davenport, a son of Donald G. and Elaine W. (Bishop) Johnson. He graduated from Ottumwa High School, class of 1971, he received a machinist degree in 1981 and a degree in computer programming in 1988 from Indian Hills Community College, Ottumwa. Bob was a very talented craftsman and Machinist. He had been a hand crafted knife maker, and had assisted in the building of Power Plants in California and Maine. He also had been a custom homebuilder with his brothers, Steve and Paul. He was an avid outdoorsman, and he especially loved fishing, camping and hunting. Bob was very knowledgeable in many subjects; he will be greatly missed during the game of "Trivial Pursuit." He also had a keen mind for older cars, and enjoyed car shows. Memorials can be made to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Organ Procurement Team, which assists families for organ and tissue donations. Survivors include his mother, Elaine W. Johnson, Davenport; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Brian Williams, Bettendorf, and Janet and John Japp, Knoxville, Tenn.; brothers, Donald G. Johnson Jr., Santa Monica, Calif., Dr. Erik Jansson, McKinleyville, Calif., Stephen Johnson, Ottumwa, and Paul Johnson, Davenport; and nine loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald G. Johnson Sr. on Jan. 12, 1992. May they rest in peace
