Mr. David "Hook" Baker, age 80 formerly of Resaca, GA, departed this life October 20, 2013 in Panama City Beach, FL, where he called home after retiring in 2010. David was born February 15, 1933 in Murray County, GA, the eldest son of the late Oscar and Alice Baker. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Charlie and Barnet Baker.

David is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patsy Caldwell Baker; daughter, Debbie Hyde and daughter and son-in-law, Reba and Ron Hanson; grandchildren, Pepper and Hubie Pascal, Pipper Telker, Heath and Amanda Hyde; great-grandchildren, Bella and Lily Telker, Seth and Labin Hyde, all of Panama City, FL; grandchildren, Michael, Rusty and Jamy Hanson; great-grandsons, Harrison and Oliver Hanson all of Minneapolis, Minnesota; one sister, Lucille Ball; nieces and nephews.

David owned and operated Baker's Wrecker and Service Station on North Wall Street for over 60 years. He was known for his generosity to friends and stranded travelers. David was a member of the Sugar Valley Baptist Church and a 50 plus year member of the Resaca Masonic Lodge. David "Hook" Baker will be greatly missed by his family and friends,

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. David "Hook" Baker will be held Saturday October 26, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. from the Sugar Valley Baptist Church with Reverend Mitch Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery with Emory McEntyre, Bill Ball, Bobby Billings, Scott Lovinggood, Dudley Meadows, James Lanier, and Fred Hensey serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be, Ed Childers, Bo DeFoor, Jack Anderson, Charlie Godfrey, Charlie Stafford, Robert Bullard, Rodney Childers, Jim Banks, and Bobby Dodson.
