Irving L. Wilder Funeral Held Saturday, March 22

Funeral services for Irving L. Wilder, 72, were held Saturday, March 22 at 2 p.m. at Worlein Funeral Home with the Rev. R. Colby officiating. Interment was in Woodbury cemetery.

Irving L. Wilder, son of Alanson and Ida Wilder, was born on April 23, 1896 in Mitchell county in the community known as Old Otranto. He moved to Lyle with his parents in 1905 where he attended and graduated from Lyle high school in 1914. After graduating he attended a Minneapolis Business College.

He was united in marriage with Lillian Corrigan November 20, 1916 in Minneapolis. For two years he managed a branch of the Lyle Culvert Factory at Thief River Falls. He then farmed in the Lyle area until he retired and moved to Austin in the year 1948.

He served as director of Lyle Township from 1938 to 1944 and as director of Lyle Creamery from 1938 to 1945. He served on the board of directors of Woodbury Cemetery Ass'n. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge No. 59 and of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Austin.

After a long illness Mr. Wilder died March 20 at Comforcare Nursing Home.

Surviving him in death are his wife, Lillian; three daughters, Mrs. Don (Marian) Jones, Olympia, Wash., Mrs. Corwin (Frances) Dowlar, Largo, Fla.; Mrs. Charles (Amy) Fischer, Minneapolis; one son, Alton, Lyle; nine grandchildren and many cousins and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother Mrs. Grace Trowbridge Wilder, two sisters, Maureen and Vera, and an infant daughter.
