Officer Ronald L. Medlin, DSN 2809, was originally hired on 12/19/1957 as a civilian and worked in the Records and Communication Division of the St. Louis Police Department. His other positions held prior to his appointment were the Bureau of Field Operations and the Central District as a clerk. On 05/29/1961 he received his commission and entered the academy. After the academy his first uniform assignment was the 3Rd District, followed by assignments in the Bureau of Field Operations, 8Th, 3RD, and finally the 2Nd District. On 03/15/1979 he was awarded a Chief's Letter of Commendation for police work above the call of duty. When Officer Medlin retired on 09/29/1981 he had completed 19.66 years of faithful and dedicated service to the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Officer Medlin was a veteran of the United States Army and achieved the rank of Specialist 4Th Class.

Dear son of James and Eleanor (nee Boack) Medlin. Predeceased by a brother James Medlin (04/28/1933-06/06/1937).

Funeral Wednesday 9:30 AM from JOHN L. ZIEGENHEIN & SONS, 7027 Gravois.

Funeral Mass at St. Dominic Savio Church at 10:00 AM.

Interment National Cemetery.
