George was the son of George Fitzsimmons McKibbon and Laura Scaffe. His grandfather was Robert McKibbon of Cobden, (wife Mary Houston) Ontario. His great grandfather was Robert McKibbon (1828 -1915) of Merrickville, Ontario (and wife Eliza Burrows). His Great Great grandparents were James McKibbon and Margaret Stewart who were both born in Ireland in the late 1700s.
His siblings were Gus Mckibbon of Owen Sound, Ontario, Mrs. Helen MacKercher (Dr. Donald MacKercher) of Cobden, Ontario, and Mrs. Marjorie Leslie of Victoria, BC (George Leslie) all predeceased.
