Suddenly Summoned
A. Ray Baldwin died at his home,
Friday might, May 16, about 8 o'clock,
He had been in his usual health until
last Tuesday afternoon when he went
to the ball game on the high school
grounds. He had a faint spell and was
helped home. He was in Wednesday
and Thursday, and Friday forenoon he
went to Cortland on business, and in
the afternoon drove to Pitcher to see
bis father and mother, Mr. and Mrs.
A. P. Baldwin. About 8 o'clock in the
evening he died in his chair.
Mr. Baldwin was 51 years of age and
leaves his wife and three sons, Wheeler,
Burnham and Raymond, and his
father and mother, and two brothers,
Floyd and Ralph Baldwin of Oxford.
The funeral was held at his home
Tuesday afternoon; burial In the Up-
per cemetery. Rev. Mr. Van Scoy, pas-
or the Methodist church, officiated.
A former pastor, Rev. A. H. Youell,
offered prayer.
Mr. Baldwin had been a successful
manager of the Victory chain grocery
store here over two years. Mr. and
Mrs. Fred France of Oxford and Mr.
and Mrs. E. L. Totman of Guilford
were in town Tuesday to attend the
funeral.
