Mark Lee Roark was born March 4, 1960 in Peoria, Illinois to Roger Lee and Phyllis Jane (Yocum) Roark.

Mark's maternal grandparents were Harry Delmar Yocum and Celia Jane (Milligan) Yocum Slocum.

His paternal grandparents were Ralph Robert Roark and Sybil (Fitzgerald) Roark Yother.

Mark has two sisters: Laura Ann Roark Flynn and Kelly Lynn Roark Butler. He has one brother: John Michael Roark.

Mark Lee was born in Peoria, but was raised in the Ledford community of Harrisburg, Illinois.

He attended Dorrisville/Phillips Grade School, Malan Junior High, and Harrisburg High School. He was a graduate of an official Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Repair School and this was a great source of pride for him since he loved motorcycles.

He was also the proud and loving uncle to Kelsie Walda, Kalyn Walda, Celia Roark, Alex Walda, and Logan Butler.

He passed away on July 2, 2000 in Carrier Mills, Illinois.

He was particularly close to his sisters. He and Laura were born on the same day two years apart and felt like twins for most of their lives. Mark was protective of his little sister Kelly and she was devastated at his death.

Mark was a loyal friend to many people. He went above and beyond to help his friends. He truly cared about people and many people mourned his death.
