PORTAGE—The body of Sgt. Edward Blake Armson, killed in action on Saipan on July 10, 1944, was to arrive in Portage this afternoon and taken to the Kinballs funeral home at Briggsville. Funeral services will be held at 2 'p. m. Wednesday at the Methodist church with the Rev. Olson and the Rev. L. L. Litchfield officiating. Burial will be in Big Spring cemetery. Sgt. Armson was graduated from the Portage, high school in 1941. He enlisted in the marines Sept. 5, 1941. He engaged in the Marshall islands offensive prior to the offensive on Saipan. He was award the Silver Star posthumously for bravery in action. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Armson , three brothers, Harlan, Janesvillle, and William and Paul, Big Spring, two sisters, Mrs. Maurice Krum ery, Great Lakes, Ill., and Mrs Roy Bacon, Janesville, and a grandmother, Mrs. William Learmonth, Portage

Briggsville Marine Killed in Action
PORTAGE — Mr. and Mrs. Merle Armson, Briggsville, received a message from the war department Sunday-that their son sgt. Edward Blake Armson, 21, had been killed in action in the South Pacific while serving with the 4th division of the marine corps. Enlisting Sept. 6, 1941, Sgt. Armson has been overseas since the first of the year. Surviving are his parents; two sisters, Theo June Armson, R. N., in California; and Mary Lou, at home, and three brothers, Harlan, Billy, and Paul, all at home. He is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs, William Learmonth, Portage
