ARTHUR BEHIMER

Arthur married his childhood sweetheart, Ada Irene Brennen, their parents had neighboring Illinois farms. Art, as he was known, was active in all community projects. He had a Martin ditcher, did custom hauling with coal, hay and supplies. Was a brand inspector during the 1930's. He was a devoted Mason, helped care for the Kenton Cemetery, director of the Cimarron Valley Telephone Association. He raised Hereford cattle, alfalfa seed, and hay, hogs and horses. Sold their ranch, near Sloan Arroya, in 1951 and moved to Barela, Colorado where he resided until his death. Art and Ada had four children: Edna Behimer Parker, Velna Behimer Combs, Frank and Nell Behimer, Jack and Maggie Behimer.
