The cases of small-pox in the Brownsburger[sic] family are progressing favorably. No further developments have been made (Apr. 4, 1876; Fort Wayne Daily News).

Another case of small-pox is on the verge of development in the person of Mrs. Brownsberger. Two of the first three cases are able to be around the house. The case of regular variola is now in its worst state. Prognosis are yet favorable. (Sat., Apr. 8, 1876; Fort Wayne Daily News)

Obituary:
This morning Mrs. John Brownsberger, residing about 3 miles south-west of the city, and in whose family the small-pox has been located, suddenly dropped dead upon the floor. She arose from her bed as usual, and just after dressing met her death. The cause is supposed to be heart disease.
