Obit: Memorial services for Grace Maud Archerd, 69, were conducted Saturday afternoon from Watts Memorial Chapel. She died Thursday in Ardmore following an illness of nearly three years. Born April 26, 1894, in Ryan, she moved to Madill as a small child and lived in Marshall County since. She married Max Archerd August 4, 1912 in Madill. Mrs. Archerd had been a member of the Methodist Church since she was young. Rev. Clint Purtell, First Methodist Church pastor, officiated at the funeral and was assisted by Glenn Wilson. Robbie Lee Watts was organist with music arranged by Rev. Purtell. Burial was in Woodberry Forest Cemetery. Other than her husband of Cumberland, Mrs. Archerd is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mary Lois Bowles of McAlester; a son, Max, Jr., of Hawkins, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Mae Sanders of Broken Bow, Mrs. Iva Underhill and Mrs. Bessie White, both of Madill; four brothers, Johnnie and Roy Edgar, both of Madill, Ted Edgar of Santa Monica, Calif., and Bud Edgar of Brownfield, Texas, five grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Lee McCasland, Alvie Swan, Will Boatright, Lee Alsup, Jim Ewing, Noah Pool, R. D. Tallaferro and Jim Mundy were pallbearers for services.
