Loraine Margaret (Phillips) Berg was born on March 20, 1916, at her Grandmother Higley's home in Eau Claire. She was the daughter of William and Ella (Higley) Phillips.
She was baptized on October 1, 1916, and later confirmed at Second Congregational Church. Loraine married Glen Berg on June 29, 1935. For many years they enjoyed living in their house on the lake in Chetek.
Loraine worked for many years in the state income tax office. She was talented in so many ways. A few of her many talents included: baking, sewing, knitting, quilting and crocheting. She greatly enjoyed being an active member of her church, Plymouth United Church of Christ. At the church she was involved with many groups such as Busy Hands Circle, Happy Hours Club, served on the worship commission team and always attended Monday morning bible study class. Loraine was an avid Packer fan and always greatly enjoyed watching football. Apple fritters and string cheese were her favorite little snacks, and a sure way to put a smile on her face. She was known for her laugh and great sense of humor, she was always very content and happy spirited. We were blessed to have Loraine in our lives, she lived a long and healthy life. She was always very sharp and will always be remembered as the true spit fire she was even up until her last days.
