Myrtle's father: Daniel Rash. Born 1851 Indiana. Died before Dec. 7, 1894, St Paul, Madison County, Arkansas. Son of Landrine Rash b. Va and Susanna Sleight.

Myrtle's mother: Jula Ann Smith. Born 1859 Barry County, Missouri. Died Dec. 7, 1894, St Paul, Madison County, Arkansas. Daughter of Paschal Smith, b. 1813 Va, d. 1863 Point Lookout, Maryland; buried Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St Louis, Missouri; Plot 38 0 4031; and Susan Henson (1821-1861).

Children of Daniel Rash and Julia Ann Smith Rash: John, Jacob, David, Fayette "Fate", Alfred Garfield, Leon "Lee", Clara, and Myrtle.

After Daniel and Julia Rash died, their children were placed with various people. Myrtle and sister Clara Rash were taken in by a childless couple, Wade Blassingame Aday and Susan Cossey Aday who lived in Pope County, Arkansas.

On the 1900 federal census, the girls are living in the household of Wade B Aday and enumerated as "Boarders." Wade Aday may have later formally adopted Myrtle and Clara Rash.
