Ronnie was born on April 4, 1929 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Daniel Joseph Benke and the late Katherine Chapman Benke.
She was a graduate of Bishop England High School and a fifth generation Charlestonian. Moma was a very creative person and had a great love of animals.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Mitchell of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Anita Garrett (Norman) of Aiken, SC; brother, Daniel J. Benke, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sister, Dora O'Bryan of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandchildren Ryan, Ian, and Catherine. Moma was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen.
The relatives and friends of Ronnie and her family are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial, September 16, 2013 in the Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, 1204 Middle Street at 11:00 am. Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens.
