The former Mabel Mae Roder was
born near Aurelia in 1890, the daughter
of Henry and Fanny Roder. She was one
of four children. In addition to Aurelia,
she had also resided at Marathon before
coming to Storm Lake.
She was the last of her family having
been preceded by two sisters, Jessie
Woodford and Lettie Hadenfeldt, and a
brother, Floyd Roder.
