Emil Schaefer born 12 Feb 1858 in Meerane, Zwickau, Saxony, Germany per his passport application on 12 July 1905 issued in Philadelphia. He emigrated to the US on the Friscia (sp?) sailing from Hamburg on 19 Dec 1877 and has resided in Philadelphia since. He was naturalized in the Court of Common Pleas at Philadelphia on the 9th day of September 1886. He is a manufacturer and intends to return to the US within two years.
From his death certificate, his mother was Wilhemina.
He married Rosa Matilda Baedeker in 1883. He resided most of his life at 1322 N. 5th Street, Philadelphia as did his three daughters. His wife Rose was born in December 1857 in PA, the daughter of August and Walburga Baedeker.
He was buried 25 Jul 1925 in Westminster Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd, Montgomery Co, PA. There is a record of internments in Westminister Cemetery, page 46. He is buried in section Valleyview, Lot 44, and he was the owner of the lot. He was 67 and worked in metal. Thanks to Westminster Cemetery for providing that he was buried in grave 1 and for providing info on the other occupants of that Lot.
There do not appear to be any grandchildren of Emil. There are three empty lots in Lot 44, Valleyview in Westminster.
