Max E. Sprow, 99, of Cloe, died Friday, May 7, 1999 at Mulberry Square. Mr. Sprow was born April 7, 1900 in Bell Township, the son of William J. and Etta (Williams) Sprow. He was married to the former Jannetta J. Conrad, who preceded him in death. A life-long resident of the Cleo area, Mr. Sprow was a retired dairy farmer and clerk for B&O Railroad. Mr. Sprow was a member of the Cloe United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men. He was also a member of John W. Jenks Lodge No. 534 F. & A.m. in Punxsutawney and the Coudersport Consistory. Surviving relatives include two daughters, Mrs. E. Jean Trihart of Punxsutawney R.D. 2, and Mrs. Ronald (Lois M.) Lasher of Bullhead, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; Mrs. George (Madlyn) Singleton, Mrs. Sheldon (Laura) Guest, and Mrs. Jack (Frances) Jones; and two brothers, Jay Sprow, and Edgar E. Sprow. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Pifer Funeral Home of Punxsutawney. The Rev. Gary Donaldson will officiate. Interment will be at Lakelawn Memorial Park of Reynoldsville. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family suggested that memorials be made to the Cloe United Methodist Church.
