Shaun Handy passed away at Palomar hospital on July 14, 2005.
Shaun was born in Benson, AZ and grew up in Sierra Vista, AZ. Shaun was a fish growing up and was always at the community pool and he became a lifeguard there when he became certified. Shaun and his brothers loved to swim and chase the cattle in the desert fields they lived by. Shaun and his parents along with his sister finally moved to Escondido, CA in 1995. Shaun went to Orange Glenn High School where he obtained his High School Diploma. He learned to surf and was usually in the ocean on the weekends with his surfboard and his brother and friends. Shaun finally got to go to Hawaii and surfed Waimea bay and he also surfed Pipeline. Shaun was a refrigeration technician for York International. He was always staying connected to the family by visiting often and helping in anyway he could. Shaun was a Jehovah's Witness and became a unbaptized publisher and awaits for his Resurrection into the Paradise along with is family members.

Survivors include; wife Nichole, son, Shaun Handy Jr; and Hayden Handy. Parents, Gary L. Handy and Marcia Handy both of Oregon; sister, Theresa Handy; and brothers, Craig A. Handy and Nathan Handy.
