Louise Greene Rountree
ELKO — Funeral services for Louise Greene Rountree, 80, will be held four p.m. Sunday, February 3 at Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, with burial in the Joyce Branch Section of Williston Cemetery. The family will receive friends from two thirty p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home Sunday. The Reverends Charlie Bowen, Larry Davis and Billy Mew will officiate. Memorials may be sent to Elko Baptist Church, P.O. Box 277, Elko, SC 29826. Mrs. Louise died Friday, February 1, 2008.
Born in Aiken County and raised in the Dunbarton Community, Mrs. Louise was a daughter of the late Henry Dayton Greene and Sarah Emma Burckhalter Greene and was married to the late Lindsey Lindwood "Pete" Rountree. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service, Star Mail Route in Allendale County, was a member of Elko Baptist Church, the WMU and the Clara Hitt Sunday School Class.
Survivors include a brother, James Greene; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by brothers, Otis J. Greene, Henry E. Greene, Marion H. Greene and Vernon Greene; sisters, Sadie Sweat, Nell Gunter and Elma Arban. View our on-line registry at www.folkfuneralhome.com.
