Gladys passed away at the age of 99. She was the daughter of Eliza Mae (Murdock) Evert and John Oscar Evert. She taught school in a small schoolhouse in Thayne, Wyoming. There she met and married Roy Dana on July 14th, 1927. She was 21. They moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. They later divorced. She met Herbert Bolke while he was stationed at Fort Douglas. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. They were married June 6th, 1942, when she was 36. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Gladys taught school for several years in Roy, Utah and the Salt Lake City District. Then she was employed by LDS Hospital as a Supervisor in the Anesthesia Department until retirement. She became a Teacher Development Instructor at Church. She had six children and numerous grand-children, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: Her Husband Herbert Bolke, and two daughters,Bonnie Maynard and Deaun Johnson, 4 grandsons, and two granddaughters. She is survived by: Three Daughters, Verla Vigil, Ielene Alldredge, and Ruth Rasmussen, a son, Evert Bolke, and a sister, Ina Mae Knapp.
