Stephen Balog, age 77, of Allen, Texas, passed away Friday, August 23, 2013 in McKinney, Texas.

He was a long time resident of Pecos, Texas. Steve was born in Michigan, July 17, 1936, and was the oldest boy of three brothers and two sisters. His father, Stephen F. Balog, and mother, Ann Balog, moved the family to Odessa, Texas, to start his own business: Balog Boiler Works. Steve was raised in Odessa, Texas, and attended Odessa High School. He joined the Army Branch of the military in 1956 and married Helen Faye Sanders in Odessa, Texas, at Belview Baptist Church in 1961. He also attended Odessa College, University of Texas at El Paso. His career includes the Odessa Police Department (1962-1969) to Deputy U.S. Marshal (1972 to 1993); he remained employed at the Lucius Bunton Federal Courthouse in Pecos until 2013 as a Federal Court Security Officer.
