Dorothy L. Davis, 89, formerly of Peru passed away at 3:37 PM, Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Healthwin Nursing Home in South Bend, IN. She was born in Peru, IN on February 24, 1924, the daughter of Dale and Elizabeth Holland Han Sr. Dorothy married John J. Davis, Jr., May 8, 1946 and he preceded her in death on March 13, 1991.
Dorothy was a 1942 graduate of Peru High School, and attended St. Pius Church in Granger, IN. She loved playing cards and games with family and friends. Dorothy was an avid bowler and fan of IU, Purdue and Norte Dame sports.
Dorothy is survived by her son, John L. Davis and his wife Joni of Osceola, IN, a granddaughter, Katherine Davis, of Osceola, IN, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, a sister Mary Hoover and a brother Dale Han, Jr.
A service celebrating the life of Dorothy L. Davis will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru, IN with Reverend Eric Underwood officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope cemetery. Family and friends with gather from Noon until 2:00 PM, Saturday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.
