Daddy had the best watermelons and cantaloupes. He had green thumb.

Buck retired from P. Lorillard in 1997 with 38 years of service. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict, and was a member of American Legion Post 386 for 46 years.

He was a native of Rockingham County. He was preceded in death by parents, Leonard and Della Mae Watkins Dalton, five brothers Rix Junior Dalton (infant), Ernest L Dalton, Richard Thomas Dalton, John Ray Dalton (youth), Raymond Franklin Dalton and one sister, Barbara Jean Dalton Adkins. Survived by four sisters, Rosa Lee Dalton Taylor, Elizabeth Ann Dalton Wyrick, Lillie Mae Dalton Vaughn all of Reidsville and Emma Dalton McCoy and husband, Jerry of High Point.

He left behind his wife of 48 years, Wanda; children James Jr., Tina Stewart, Jerry Todd and Jan Morrison, four grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
