Was Formerly Printer in this Office.
Wednesday morning news was received here that Edward A. Benedict of Mono Lake, formerly a printer in this office, had died there of heart failure. It was known that his heart was weak, but his sudden death came as a surprise to everybody. Tuesday he escorted two travelling salesmen, Messrs. Flaven and Murphy, as far as the Goat Ranch, returning to his home.
The deceased is the step-son of Postmaster John Mattly of Mono Lake, and was living in the same house with his step-father when he died. He leaves besides these relatives a wife, to whom the Chronicle-Union, along with other friends offers sincere condolences.
He was buried today (Friday) at Mono Lake. Obituary next week.
