Jacobina 'Bena"Unsicker died in Elm Grove, IL. She is thought to be buried in the Railroad Cemetery. She was married to Nicholas Kropf/Krop/Grubb. He was born at Hartzviller, Meurthe, France May 26, 1813. He died in Tazewell County April 8, 1881. He was a son of Pierre Kropf and Suzzane Ringberger [Ringenberg]. He is supposedly buried in Antioch Cemetery in Dillon, IL. Nicholas and Jocabina appear on the 1860 census. He was a farmer in Elm Grove, age listed as 45, born in France; Jacobena 25, Baden, Barbara 4, John 1 born in Illinois. Fred Batty 20. The father's name appears on the 1864 plat map of Elm Grove as 'N. Grubb'. They appear on the 1870 census of Elm Grove as farmer Nicholas Cropp 54, France; Jacobine, 35, Baden; John 10, Peter 8, Magdalena 6 and Christian 6, all the children were born in IL. The 1880 Census shows them as 'Grubb.' Nicholas was a younger brother to Andre Kropf, whose name also evolved into Grubb at Elm Grove. "Amish Mennonites in Tazewell County, Illinois".
