OBITUARY:
Larry John Faumuina, 55, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, of natural causes. Born Jan. 3, 1949, in Leloaloa, American Samoa, he lived in Oceanside for 45 years. He retired after 20 years on the Oceanside Police Department. He was an investigator for the district attorney for San Diego County. Mr. Faumuina was preceded in death by his mother, Florrie Patricia Faumuina, on Dec. 8, 1991. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Julie Faumuina of Oceanside; father Amio Patolo Faumuina of Oceanside; daughters Merideth, Macy and Mackenzie Faumuina, all of Oceanside; son Blake Faumuina of Oceanside; and sisters and brothers-in-law Pat and Vince Ely of Auburn, Joleen and Richard Lees of San Diego, Doris and Sio Pasene, Sally Faumuina and Kathy and Tia Muagututia, all of Oceanside. Viewing is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Serra Center, Mission San Luis Rey with the Rev. Peter officiating. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. A reception will be held at Elks Club in Oceanside following the Mass. Eternal Hills Mortuary is handling arrangements.
