Nellie V. Alspach (nee Johnston), age 92, of Merrillville, passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2004. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, O.E.S. Olive Chapter #396, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, Aretas Temple no. 153 Daughter of the Nile.
She was preceded in death by husband Harry Alspach, sisters, Golda Strieby, Dorothy Robinson and brother Merlin Johnston. Survivors are three sisters; Mary Colter and Eileen Hess both of Decatur and Donna Roop of Ft. Wayne; two brothers; Ollie (Aileen) Johnston of Merrillville and Herbert (Carol) Johnston of DeMotte; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services Saturday, June 12, 2004, 11:00 a.m. at the Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville. Rev. Beverly Biehr officiating. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Visitation Friday, June 11th, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Geisen Funeral Home, Merrillville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Harbor Light Hospice or to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
