Ella Mae (Gibbons) Fisher, age 87 of Newark, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
She was born July 27, 1921, in Knox County, Missouri, the daughter of Patrick Henry and Josephine Weber Gibbons.
On April 15, 1940, at Edina, Missouri she was united in marriage to James Henry Fisher and he preceded her in death on March 2, 1965.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother Francis Gibons and two sisters, Rose Ann Pfeifer and Mary Elizabeth Lindsey.
Ella Mae was baptized into the Catholic faith at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edina, Missouri. She was a graduate of the St. Joseph High School.
Ella Mae loved gardening and her flowers. She always had a big garden and did a lot of canning and freezing corn. She was most happy when she would cook a big meal and have her kids, grandkids and great grandkids to come and see her so she could kiss and hug them. Ella Mae always loved company and playing cards after a big meal.
Surviving are four children, Marilyn K. Miller and husband Don of Knox City, Missouri, Ronald James Fisher of Knox City, Missouri, John Robert Fisher of Palmyra, Missouri, and Gerald Francis Fisher and wife Cindy of LaGrange, Missouri; three brothers, Charles Gibbons and wife Barb, Pat Gibbons and wife Dorothy both of Edina, Missouri and Paul Gibbons of Fairbanks, Alaska; eight grandchildren, Jim Miller and wife Sarah, Sherry Morrow, Kathy Ford and husband Chris, Hank Fisher and wife Kellie, Kim Tryon and husband Jim, Sam Fisher and wife Angie, Steven Fisher and friend Kathy; Lisa Luckhaupt and husband Corey; sixteen great-grandkids, Luke Morrow, Carly and Riley Miller, Logan Fisher, Macie and Ella Fisher, Darrian, Aydan and Kegan Tryon, Allison and Olivia Ford, Hannah Fisher, Brayden and Brennen Luckhaupt, Jeremy and Jordan Tryon and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
