Bertha E. Bailey

NEW FREEDOM – Bertha E. Bailey, 91, formerly of Broad Street, New Freedom, died at 11:10 p.m. Wednesday at Shrewsbury Lutheran Retirement Village, where she lived since 1981. She was the wife of the late Clarence O. Bailey.
The service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the J. J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., 24 Second St., New Freedom. Burial will be in Bethlehem (Steltz) Cemetery.
Mrs. Bailey was born on October 15, 1902, in Codorus Township. She was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Eva (Heindel) Bricker.
She had been employed in the cold mold department of the then American Insulator Corp., and later worked at the then Charles G. Summers Jr. Inc. She was a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ of Steltz.
Mrs. Bailey is survived by a sister, Blanche V. Hoke of Seven Valleys; and nieces and nephews.
Officiating at the service will be her pastor, the Rev. Richard F. Pulling.
