James Brown Dies in Hospital
James L. (Jim) Brown, 69, of 140 Walker Street died Wednesday night at General Hospital.
Mr, Brown was superintendent of transportation at Duke Power Co. until he retired because of ill health.
Surviving are: his wife; 3 sons, James C. Brown Jr. of Pauline, Landrum Defoix Brown of Danville, Va., and Donald Norris Brown of Spartanburg; a brother, C.C. Brown of Key West, Fla.; 4 sisters, Mrs. Minnie Lovelace of Joanna, Mrs. Martha Whitley of Bessemer City, N.C., and Mrs. Bertha Norris and Mrs. Susie Barnes, both of Clinton; and 3 grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by M.W. Bobo Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services for James L. (Jim) Brown, 69, of 140 Walker Street who died Wednesday night at General Hospital, will be conducted today at 4 p.m. at the M.W. Bobo Funeral Chapel. The Rev. J.O. Gilliam and Rufus Rowe will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Duke Power Co. bus drivers will serve as pallbearers. The body will remain at the funeral chapel.
