Jane Herod Garmong, 62, of Terre Haute died Tuesday, July 26, 2005, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was a 20-year employee with U.S. Airways. She was born March 1, 1943, in Chicago to Graydon Herod and Alice Braunschweiger Herod. Survivors include one son, Jeffrey Garmong and his wife, Lisa of Florida; two sisters, Sally Smiley and her husband, Roger of Lexington, Ky., and Beth White and her husband, Richard of Terre Haute; one brother, John Herod of Indianapolis; several nieces, nephews and cousins; one great-nephew and one great-niece. She also is survived by a very special aunt and uncle, Dotty and Tom Bilyeu of Terre Haute; three very close friends, Diane Weir, Alyce Dressler and Pamela English Archer; her ex-husband, Carl, who has remained her dear friend; and the extended Garmong and Hannum families. She was preceded in death by her parents. A very important part of her life included sharing memories with her dear e-mail friends, THInd and The Wabash Cannonballs. She was a 1960 graduate of Wiley High School and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Funeral services are 10 a.m. today in Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Pastor Philip Meyer officiating. Burial follows in Roselawn Memorial Park.
