Maria Agnes (Wolf) Berwager, of Hanover, entered into God's eternal care, July 19, 2013, in New Oxford.

Born January 22, 1932 in Limburg/Lahn, Germany she was the daughter of the late Georg Anton and Maria Teresa (Munz) Wolf. She was the loving wife of Jerry C. Berwager for 55 years; having been married September 7, 1957 in the Basilica of Sacred heart of Jesus (Conewago Chapel) Edge Grove, Adams County by the Rev. Msgr. John P. Bolen.

Maria attended school in Limburg. After graduation she continued to work on the family farm until she came to the U.S. on December 28, 1954 and immediately began working in numerous sewing and quilting factories in Fawn Grove and Hanover before retiring to become a housewife and be with her children.

She became a proud naturalized citizen on June 21, 1960, in York. Maria was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who walked 3 miles a day until she became too ill. She was a faithful member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Hanover.

In addition to her husband, Jerry, Maria is survived by two daughters, Teresa A. and husband Steve Riedel of Two Taverns, Sandra E. and husband Darrel Buchma of New Oxford; four grandchildren, Hannah and Grace Riedel, Michael and Emily Buchma; two sisters, Hedi A. (Wales) McElwain of Fawn Grove, Gertrude Franziska Endres; four brothers; Karl Joseph, Gerhard Winfried both of Limburg, Clemens M. of Obertiefenbach, and Alfons M. Anton Wolf of Hamburg, Germany.

Preceding her in death were two sisters; Elizabeth M. Margareta Shenk, Johanna Maria Schlosser, and three brothers; Herman Joseph, Georg Johan and Peter Paul Wolf.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., July 27, 2013 at St. Vincent de Paul catholic Church, Hanover, with Father John D. Schmalhofer as celebrant. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., July 26th, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., Hanover, with a prayer service at 8 p.m.
