Elda Elwood 1918 ~ 2006 Elda Atkinson Peterson Elwood, 88, passed away peacefully of natural cause December 19, 2006. She was born June 5, 1918 in Treasureton, Idaho to Henry Clipson and Charlotte Henrietta Dawson Atkinson, the eighth of 12 children.
Married Alfred J Peterson July 5, 1941. They had a daughter, Vicki. Al died February 24, 1958. Elda went onto nursing school soon after where she loved nursing and was a very kind and loving nurse. Married Harold Elwood May 1, 1970. After they retired they did a great deal of traveling and enjoyed it tremendously. Harry died November 17, 1986. She moved to Cottonwood Creek Retirement Inn in 1991 and had many friends there. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Kent) Zimmerman; five stepchildren: Jerry (Mary Ann) Elwood, Dean Na (Del Ray) Harrison, Kada (Randy) Bouza, Lon (Diane) Elwood, Nona (Jack) Merrill; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; four sisters: Leda Sampson, Donna Coburn, Twila (Wayne) Palmer and Fontelle (Richard) Christensen; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brothers: Henry, Von, Alvin and Orson; sisters: Dessa Sant, Anona Corbridge and Erma Lucy. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 22, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where family and friends may call Friday, 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
