Norma Rae Adams


Norma Rae Adams, 74, of Plattsmouth died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at Plattsmouth Manor Nursing Home in Plattsmouth.


Norma Rae Bacon was born Oct 22, 1926, in Lyons. She attended Lyons High School and then North High School in Omaha. She worked for Merchants Biscuit and Max I. Walker Cleaners, both in Omaha. She married Glen Adams June 21, 1947, in Omaha. She worked for Mutual of Omaha in Omaha and was a homemaker. She moved to Plattsmouth in January 1969. Her spouse died April 14, 1991.


She was a former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Plattsmouth.


Survivors include: four sons, Glen Adams, Edward Adams and Glen Shindoll and John (and wife, Tammy) Adams, all of Plattsmouth and George (and wife, Tonya) Adams of Malvern, Iowa; five daughters, Alice (Mrs. Terry) Forrest of Fremont, Mary Jo Scott and Elizabeth Yeoman, both of Plattsmouth, Karen (Mrs. Lucian) Turco, Debbie Bressler and Steve Pasquini, all of Omaha; two brothers, Keith (and wife, Lois) Bacon of Omaha and Richard (and wife, Karen) Bacon of Tabor, S. D.; four sisters, Carol McAllister of Plattsmouth, Clara (Mrs. Franklin) Lee, Loma (Mrs. Leonard) Givens and Shirley Rhodenbarger, all of Omaha; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by two sisters and a great-granddaughter.


The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Roby Funeral Home Chapel in Plattsmouth with the Rev. Steve Eldred officiating. Visitation will be 1-9 tonight with family receiving friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth.
