Florence Aloba Alcid, 74, of Concord, California passed away peacefully on Monday, July 15th, 2013, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her children Gigi Cruz, Antonio Aloba Alcid III, Belinda Alcid, Geraldine Alcid, and grandchildren Stephanie Alcid, Samantha Strickler, Nathan Cruz, Jessica Bauer, and Ligaya Helm. Florence was born on February 23, 1939 in Binondo, Manila, Philippines. She graduated from the University of the East, in Manila in 1958 with a degree in Accountancy and became a Certified Public Accountant. She met and married the late Antonio Feliciano Alcid Jr. and they immigrated to the United States with their four children in 1976. Florence enjoyed trips to casinos, crocheting, spending time with her friends over games of Bingo, watching various game shows and Filipino teleseries. She was an avid sports fan; she cheered for the New York Yankees, and the Boston Celtics. Florence would relax listening to Josh Groban and reading romantic novels written by Nicholas Sparks. But most of all, Florence cherished and adored her grandchildren. Visitation for Florence will be on Friday, July 19, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Ouimet Bros., Concord Funeral Chapel, 4125 Clayton Road, Concord, CA. A vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday evening at the chapel. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 9:00 AM at St. Agnes Church, 3966 Chestnut Avenue, Concord, CA. She will be laid to rest at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Lafayette.
