James Ira Gordon was born in Chanute,Kansas to James Milton Gordon and Nina Ursula Booe Gordon. In 1941 he joined the Air Force and served for 28 years eventually achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. In 1945 he married Ruth Josephine Geer. They had two sons: James Lenoir Houck Gordon(12/2/1944-2/14/2007) and Michael David Gordon(6/18/1947-6/12/2013). In 1969 he and Ruth settled in Corpus Christi, TX where he worked for the next fifteen years as a city health inspector. Jim and Ruth both lived until the end of their days in Corpus Christi.
