Obituary for Edward Taylor

Athens, GA - Edward Langston Taylor, 76, died July 5, 2013. Born in Banks County on October 19, 1936 and raised in Lexington, he was the son of the late Harris and Nellie Woodall Taylor of Lexington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Jr. Taylor, Dial Taylor and Wilford Taylor and 2 sisters, Susie Taylor Smith and Dorothy Taylor Walker.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Gann Taylor; daughter, Mrs. Geneva Foster (Johnny); 3 sons, Randy Taylor (Kathy), Terry Taylor (Kathy) and Michael McDaniel (Donna);
8 grandchildren, Keith Bradberry, Samantha Williams, Mitch Taylor, Steven Bradberry, Chuck Taylor, Blake McDaniel, Whitney McDaniel and Alexa McDaniel; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Henrietta Norman; 5 brothers, Oscar, Duncan, Joe, Wiley and Billy Taylor.
Ed was of the Pentecostal faith, was longtime owner of Oak Street Amoco for 36 years and a retiree of UGA parking services.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 8, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, EAST with Rev. Johnny Foster, son-in-law, officiating. Interment will follow at Athens Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Keith Bradberry, Steven Bradberry, Mitch Taylor, Chuck Taylor, Jason Williams and nephew, Jerry Taylor.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to The Gideons International (Bibles) or the American Heart Association.
