Mr. Ray A. Carver, age 74, of Cartersville, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at his residence. Born in Black Mountain, North Carolina on March 23, 1934, he was the son of the late Joseph M. Carver and the late Rachel Allen Carver.

He was a member of Emerson Baptist Church and the Emerson Masonic Lodge. He retired from Lockheed Martin as an aircraft mechanic.

He is predeceased by his parents and his wife, Barbara Smartt Carver.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Julie Carver of Ellijay; his daughter, Joyce Miller of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Michael Waddell and his wife, Kelly, Mary Ann Molton and her husband, Rich, Tammy Smith and her partner, Dee, Jennifer Powell and her husband, Steve, Wesley Smith, Rachel Koeheler and her husband, John; twelve great-grandchildren; his sisters, Louise O'Neal and Lorraine Love; and numerous nieces and nephews.
