KOSCIUSKO — Gene Ballard Harmon, 80, of Kosciusko died Monday, June 24, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital.

Visitation is Tuesday, June 25, from 5-8 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Parkway Cemetery.

Rev. Billy Frazure will officiate the services.

He graduated Thomastown High School in 1951, Holmes Junior College in 1953, and Mississippi State University in 1955. He served in the United States Army from July 7, 1956 until July 3, 1958 when he was honorably discharged. He taught vocational agriculture in the Attala County System form 1958 until 1986. He married Dorothy Belle Brown on June 6, 1967. After retiring from teaching in 1986, he enjoyed his Red Brangus cattle farm and woodworking. He enjoyed his association with his friends in the cattle business. He was a member of the Red Brangus Association and the Sunbelt Red Brangus Organization. He was also a member of the Shiloh Methodist Protestant Church.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Carol Jean Harmon Fiedler and son-in-law, Herbert Patterson Fiedler, Jr.; and grandsons, Wade Jordan Fiedler and William Patterson Fiedler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Lee Moore and Alvin Ballard Harmon.

Pallbearers will be Rob Brown, Adam Brown, Wade Fiedler, Mark Foreman, Richard Gingles, Joe Jones, and Stacey Kyle Jones.
