George was the oldest son of Harry Sylvester 'Ves' and Nettie Servenia (Bean) Gasaway.

He married (1) Georgine Marie Holmes in 1918 and they had three children: Harry Sylvester, George Miles Jr. and Kathleen Eunice.

In 1935 he married (2) Evelyn Juliet Hanson and they had four children: Evelyn Alice, Mae Janice, George Richard and Leonard Dale

Last Rites For Miles Gasaway Here Tuesday

A lifelong resident of this area, George Miles Gasaway Sr., 72, died suddenly last Thursday morning at his home, and his funeral and burial took place here Tuesday at 2 p.m.

He was born the son of Harry Sylvester Gasaway and Nettie Bean at Lee, Mont., on Rosebud Creek. Before the age of 4 years he moved to Chimney Rock on Trail Creek near Bozeman. In 1904 he returned to Rosebud County where he homesteaded on Armells Creek. Later he married Georgine Marie Holmes and to this union three children were born, Harry Sylvester who was killed in World War II in 1943, George Miles Jr. of Circle, Mont., and Kathleen Deveny of Sanders. His wife preceded him in death when the children were small.

In 1928 he moved to Forsyth where he was engaged in the plumbing business.

He married Evelyn Hanson in Billings March 20, 1935. Four children to this union were born, Mrs. Evelyn Alice Yonkaltis and Mrs. Mae Welch, Billings, George Richard of San Angelo, Tex., and Leonard of Forsyth.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Nettie Crawshaw, Forsyth, his sons and daughters, a sister, Mrs. Fay Trunk of Bozeman, a half-sister, Mrs. Mae Gibson of Great Falls and eight grandchildren.

The Rev. Wayne Larson of the Federated Church officiated at the funeral. Burial was in Forsyth Cemetery. Mrs. Iola Mees was soloist and pallbearers were S. W. Thomas, Ernest Post, Earl Carolan, Robert Hecht, William Tadsen and Hilmar Sherman.
