Margaret Bachmann-Neathery passed away on April 20, 2013 in Lake Havasu City. She was born on September 19, 1926 in Oxnard CA to Llano and Della Gorden, the 3rd sister of 4.

She grew up in central California. In 1944 she graduated from Lemoore High School, CA. She met her first husband of 44 years in Lemoore where Warren Bachmann was stationed in the Army-Air Corps during WWII. They were married in Minnesota in 1947, and moved to Los Angeles in 1954.

Unable to have children, Warren and Margaret adopted two sons, Gregory in 1956 and Wayne in 1962. Margaret worked as a phone operator in her California years. When Warren retired, Margaret did too! They moved to Lake Havasu City in 1988. Following an illness with cancer, Warren died in 1991.

Always a traveler, on a trip to Alaska, Margaret met a fellow widower, and romance grew. In 1999 she married William Neathery. Bill passed away in 2009. Margaret suffered from Alzheimer's disease, but tried not to let it get the best of her. She still attended DAR meetings and went to the Havasu Senior Center several times a week.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Warren and William, son Wayne, and 3 sisters, Eraila, Claudia and Barbara. She is survived by her son Greg, his wife Lori, grandson Kristoffer, granddaughter Ashley, her favorite cousin Elanor, several cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as many caregivers who provided care the last years of her life.

A memorial service will be held Thursday April 25, 2013 at 10 am at Leitz Fraze Funeral Home, reception following at her home. Internment will be held Saturday at 2 pm in Ventura, Ca. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Lake Havasu DAR or the Havasu Senior Center.
