Eldon C. Roberts Sr., 81, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 1997, at UPMC Passavant, McCandless. Born Jan. 26, 1916, in Heilwood, he was the son of the late William D. and Agnes Myers Roberts. Mr. Roberts worked as a master machinist for Mesta Machine Co., in West Homestead for 39 years until his retirement in 1981. He was a 32nd degree Mason of Lodge 725 Free and accepted Masons of East Liberty, Shriner of Syria Temple of Pittsburgh, a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Allison Park, the American Association of Retired Persons in Allison Park and Millvale and a member of the Sportsman's Club in Wexford. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ethel Kamer Roberts; two daughters, Beverly C. Hunter of Boston and Patsy R. Walker of Lynchburg, Va.; four sons, Eldon C. Roberts Jr. of Falls Church, Va., Terry J. Roberts of Arlington, Va., Douglas W. Roberts of Brookline, Mass., and Ronald J. Roberts of Fairfield, Conn.; one sister, Dorothy Benko of Heilwood; and 14 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth G. Roberts, four sisters and seven brothers. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday in the Schellhaas Funeral Home, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, where a funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Joe Grimaldi of Calvary Baptist Church presiding. Burial will follow in Glade Run Cemetery, Butler.
