Surviving children are Kenneth L. Mapes, Yazoo City, Miss.; Mrs. Erma Barnhart, Wichita; Virgil Mapes, Wichita; James C. Mapes, Ft. Worth, Texas; Cleo Mapes, Golden, Colo; grandchildren, relatives and friends.
Funeral services held Monday, Feb. 8, 1 p.m. at Harry George Funeral home, with Rev. Charles Wretling officiating. Mrs. Wretling accompanied Mrs. Patty Mapes Kunkel who sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Pallbearers were Cecil Ettleman, Kenneth Wahl, Marvin Ginn, Fred Brown, Francis Malngren, Joe W. Morey. Interment in Hawk cemetery, south of Haddam.
