Miss Irene Batchelor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Batchelor of Canon City, and only sister of J. Smythe Batchelor, manager of the Salida Creamery, died Friday night at her home in Canon City after an illness of several years. She was 24 years old. Funeral services were held Monday morning at the First Methodist church in Canon City, the Rev. Rollin H. Ayres officiating. Interment was at Lakeside cemetery. The pallbearers were Miss Louise Pigg, Miss Genevieve Pigg, Miss Dorothy Frederickson, Miss Opal Joyce, Mrs. Margaret Madson and Mrs. May Osment. Mr. Batchelor left immediately for Canon City on receipt of news of his sister's death.
