Samuel is my Grandfather. He lived in Elmira, NY, and raised four children George (my Dad), Charlie, Adel and Mabel. He and my Grandma owned a family grocery store called "Rahall's Market" on Broadway in Elmira.
Sam was a kind hard working man. On his days off he loved nothing more than to spent time at his cottage on Lake Lamoka with friends and family. My dad's dog Pancho knew like clockwork when it was time leave and was first in the car.
Every Sunday he and my Grandmother hosted a huge family dinner complete with fine china.
Sadly, my Grandpa passed away the night before my father George was to go into the Navy, at his beloved cottage.
I wish I had the pleasure of meeting him. Dad keeps his spirit alive.
